Make A Wish

Friday, February 12 our Student Council hosted an assembly with the Make A Wish organization. Our Student Council, sponsored by Ellen Hamilton, grade 7, were able to raise $5000 to grant the wish of a special child.  The entire school was in attendance to see this wish be awarded to a young child!!  Way to go, Mrs. Hamilton!!  Way to go, Student Council and way to go, student body!!

Transfers

Riverdale has been closed to transfers for several years as are most other Shelby County Schools.  However, each year a few do get transfers approved. Go to the SCS website to find the transfer form.  The deadline to request student transfers to high schools is March 1, 2010.  If you miss the deadline, your request may be denied.

GOLF ANYONE??

The 14th annual Riverdale Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 15 at Stonebridge Golf Course. Put this on your calendar now and talk to your golfing friends so they can join us.  Lots of prizes!!

Honk Jr.

Almost 60 students have committed to being involved in the BIG SPRING MUSICAL!!  Book May 6-8 on your calendars for the big performance.   Each year the gym fills up for these plays and our kids really shine!!  If your company would like to be a sponsor, please call the office.  Thanks!!

Grocery Cards
We are receiving almost $1000/month from our grocery card program.  We have a group who wants to double that and we think this is easily within reach.  

If you want to communicate with the fearless leader, Tami Salvaggio, her e-mail is salvaggiofamily@bellsouth.net. With additional funds we can move more Interactive Whiteboards Boards into classrooms and update old computers in classrooms.  We hope you can help.

Help!!

We have had several situations where parents have arrived in the middle of the day popping in the classrooms to drop off supplies, lunches or for a short conference. Remember that, for security reasons, parents or family members should always check in the office first. Supplies will be carried down to the class for you.  Please send a note to arrange a conference. Thanks for your help!!
